Dentistry With TLC is a great operation! I made the drive to Godfrey to have Dr. Smith make me an oral sleep appliance because my CPAP was very cumbersome when I would travel and it made sleeping uncomfortable. Now that I use an oral sleep appliance instead of my CPAP I have freedom to sleep in any position, I'm comfortable while I sleep and I get a better quality of sleep. It's very easy to travel with my appliance and I can use it anywhere without public awareness (even on an airplane). If your concerned about the cost of an oral appliance I recommend evaluating the cost of simple conveniences you already pay for and compare them to the cost of something that you will use everyday which has the ability to improve the quality of your life."

"My oral sleep appliance gives me full, restful nights of sleep which increases my energy for the day. Before I got an oral appliance I used a CPAP every night for 5 years and I was unhappy every night when I put it on. I lacked free movement because the air hose kept me tethered and it made fluttering noises that would wake my wife when the air would escape from the mask. The tightness of the headgear made the bridge of my nose sore, left strap marks on my cheeks and made indentions on my forehead. When the power went off I had no air. The CPAP also made my nose and throat dry and airport screening was an ordeal. Now thatI use an oral sleep appliance I don't have any more facial marks, dry mouth, and pain from the tight mask or noise to wake my wife. I love being free to move and turn over.
